Sandstrak Beach

60 minutes
Sandstrak is a long, wide sandy beach on the western shore of Dønna, facing the open Norwegian Sea. On a calm day, the combination of white sand, clear blue water, and the dramatic profile of Dønnamannen rising directly behind it makes this one of the most scenic beach spots on the Helgeland coast.

The beach also serves as the starting point for the Dønnamannen hike. Most people who come here are either heading up the mountain or coming back down, which means the beach itself is rarely crowded. The water is cold, as you would expect this far north, but on a warm summer day it is perfectly swimmable.
