Sápmi Park

60 minutes
Sápmi Park in Karasjok is a cultural centre and theme park that offers an accessible introduction to Sami life and traditions. It is aimed particularly at families and visitors with limited time in the region.

The centrepiece is the Magic Theatre, a multimedia show that uses light, sound, and projection to tell the story of the Sami people and their relationship with the Arctic landscape. Outside, the park features traditional architecture including lavvu tents and turf huts, reindeer feeding opportunities, and lasso practice where visitors can try their hand at the technique used by herders to catch individual reindeer from a moving herd.

The park also houses Boble Glasshytte, Finnmark's only glassblowing studio, where visitors can watch artisans work. The combination of traditional culture and hands-on activities makes it a good complement to the more serious cultural institutions in Karasjok, like the Sami Parliament and the National Museum.
