Trollvasstinden is the highest point on Vega at 803 metres. For an island that is mostly flat farmland, this mountain in the southwest corner is unexpectedly dramatic. The hike to the summit is steep and the mountain is exposed to wind and weather from the open sea.

From the top you have a 360-degree view over the entire Vega archipelago, the Helgeland coast, and on clear days the De syv søstre mountain chain to the north. It is one of the best viewpoints on the entire Kystriksveien route.
