Sandspollen is a sheltered bay about three kilometres southeast of Sætre, and it is considered one of the best natural harbours in the Oslofjord. The name says it all: "polle" means a secluded bay, and this one has a sandy beach in its southeastern corner.

The bay sits directly south of the island Håøya and southwest of Oscarsborg fortress. On a summer weekend, 40 to 50 boats anchor here, mostly sailboats. There are additional swimming spots at Kinnartangen and Verpen, and the marina at Wærpen Gård rents out berths.

The coastal trail (Kyststien) passes through with swimming spots, outdoor toilets, and a shelter cabin along the way. The bedrock along the shore here is some of the oldest on the Hurum peninsula: various types of gneiss that form a stripe along the coast from Ersvika to Sandspollen.

It is a quiet, local place. No tourist infrastructure, no restaurants, just the bay and the boats.
