Gyland is a small mountain village in Flekkefjord municipality, tucked into the northeastern corner along the river Gylandselva near lake Kumlevollvatnet. The Old Norse name Gýjuland places this among the oldest named settlements in the area, and Gyland Church has stood nearby since the Middle Ages. The station building was designed by architect Gudmund Hoel. At 453 kilometres from Oslo, this is one of the more remote stops on the Sørlandsbanen.
