The Fayancemuseet in Egersund documents the output of Egersund Fayancefabrik, which operated from 1847 to 1979 and was Norway's largest producer of stoneware and decorated ceramics. Founded by Johan Feyer after studies in Newcastle, the factory evolved from simple stoneware to artistic fayance, working with notable Norwegian artists. The collection includes the iconic puffin jug designed by Jacob Sømme. The museum occupies modern facilities on the site of the original factory.
