Brekkestø is a small harbour village on the island of Justøya near Lillesand, at the eastern entrance to Blindleia. It began in the early 1600s as a sheltered anchorage for the Stutthei farms, partly to protect boats from Dutch pirates and corsairs who raided the coast. By the age of sail it had grown into a busy winter harbour where sailing vessels waited out storms and resupplied between voyages.

The well-preserved white wharf buildings and boathouses along the harbour give Brekkestø much of its character today. A small general store, a boat fuel station and a summer ice cream kiosk keep the village alive, though the old post office closed in 2002. Houses and docks spread over several adjacent rocky islets, and the harbour remains a popular stop for boaters cruising Blindleia.
