Pollen is Arendal's intimate inner harbour, a small basin surrounded by restaurants, a seasonal fish market, and the quays where locals and visitors gather on summer evenings. Boats moor right at the edge and the ferry to Merdø departs from here. It is the natural centre of town life and the connection point between the old quarter of Tyholmen and the rest of Arendal.
