The Setesdalsbanen ran from Kristiansand to Byglandsfjorden from 1896 until it closed in 1962. Local enthusiasts preserved an eight-kilometre section between Grovane and Røyknes in Vennesla, about 20 kilometres from Kristiansand. Four steam locomotives over a hundred years old haul preserved wooden carriages along the narrow-gauge track on summer weekends. The ride takes around 20 to 30 minutes each way and passes through wooded riverside scenery. A pleasant excursion for families and railway enthusiasts.
