Rødøyløva is a 443-metre mountain on the island of Rødøy, right at the Arctic Circle. Its name means "the Rødøy Lion"; seen from the sea, the mountain's profile looks like a lion at rest, head raised, watching over the coast.

The hike starts at Klokkersgården on the island and takes three to four hours round trip. Much of the route has been fitted with sherpa steps, stone stairs built to protect the terrain and make the ascent more manageable. The summit itself is exposed and sits in steep terrain, so save it for a calm day. But on that calm day, the panorama from the top is one of the finest on the entire Helgeland coast: from the Lofoten Wall in the north to Vega in the south, with the Svartisen glacier, Hestmannen, Træna, and hundreds of islands spread out below you.

Rødøy island itself is small and quiet, with a handful of residents, a medieval church dating back to the 1100s, and the old Klokkersgården (sexton's house) that now offers accommodation. The island is reached by ferry from the Kystriksveien.
