Raudalen is the challenging side of Beitostølen's ski area. While the main slopes in the village centre are family-friendly with only 150 metres of vertical drop, Raudalen offers nearly three times that with red and black runs.
The ski centre lies 6 km west of Beitostølen centre. There's a free shuttle bus that takes about 15 minutes, and free parking if you drive yourself. The slopes were FIS-approved for slalom and giant slalom in 2018, and the area regularly hosts competitions including the Telemark Skiing World Championship and Alpine Veterans World Championship.
For those who like off-piste skiing, there's good terrain in the forest to the left from the top of the lift. The same lift pass works for both Beitostølen and Raudalen, so you can switch between family slopes and more serious skiing in the same day.
There's a warming cabin called Raudalshytta where you can get lunch and waffles.
