Randsverk

Randsverk

Randsverk is a small mountain settlement at 735 metres elevation in Vågå municipality. It sits at an important junction: Road 51 runs between Valdresflya and Vågåmo, while Road 257 branches off east through Heidal to Sjoa and the E6.

The name probably comes from the river Rinda that flows through here. Originally this was a setergrend, a summer farming settlement, but today it's mainly a services hub for travellers.

You'll find a Coop supermarket, a café, camping facilities, and tourist information. There's also a sawmill run by Langmorkje Almenning, which processes slow-growing mountain pine from the surrounding forests. The wood from these high-altitude trees is particularly dense and valued for building.
