Rakksetra is a mountain farm above Oppheim in Oldedalen, sitting on a green shelf with views down the valley and towards the glacier arms. It became hugely popular during the corona years when Norwegians rediscovered their own country, and for a while the small path up here was busier than anyone expected.

The farm is privately owned and the owners have asked people to respect that. There is no camping allowed, and you should stay on the path. The hike up is not long but it is steep in places, and the reward is a classic Norwegian mountain farm landscape with old buildings, green grass, and big views.

If you are already in Oldedalen for Briksdal or Kjenndal glacier, Rakksetra makes a good side trip on a clear day. Just remember this is someone's property, not a tourist attraction.
