Marmorslottet, the Marble Castle, is a geological formation near Mo i Rana where a river has spent thousands of years carving potholes, caves, and giant's cauldrons into white marble. The result is a surreal landscape of smooth curves and hollows, protected as a nature reserve under a County Governor conservation plan.

This site has suffered significant wear from its popularity, and strict rules apply. All visitors must remove their shoes before stepping onto the marble; sand and grit embedded in boot soles act as an abrasive that slowly grinds down the formations millimeter by millimeter. Walking barefoot or in socks also gives a more tactile sense of the shapes water and ice have created.

Drones are prohibited throughout the area. No fires, waste, or traces of any kind should be left behind, and there are no toilets or waste bins on site. Plan accordingly. The trail from the parking area is 1.2 km one way with about 50 meters of elevation gain, typically taking 20 to 40 minutes. Sections are steep and can be very slippery when wet.

The river runs strong and the area is not fenced or secured, so particular care is needed with children and pets. No signposts exist beyond the car park; follow a map and turn left where the trail forks. Conditions are generally best from late May through summer, when water levels drop and the terrain is drier.
