Manndalen, called Olmmáivággi in Northern Sami, is the cultural heart of Kåfjord municipality, where Sami, Kven, and Norwegian traditions have intertwined for centuries. The three communities lived and worked side by side, and the valley preserves crafts that have largely disappeared elsewhere. The grene tradition is the most distinctive. These large woven wool rugs and blankets date back thousands of years in Sea Sami culture, once used to cover lavvo tents, line sleds, and serve as bedding. At Manndalen Husflidslag's Grenebua shop, visitors can see the craft firsthand and buy pieces directly from the weavers. Each July, the valley transforms for Riddu Riđđu, an indigenous music and culture festival that has grown over 25 years into one of the world's most important gatherings of indigenous artists. The name means 'small storm at the coast' in Northern Sami. A short detour up the Kåfjord valley from the E6 leads to Gorsabrua, a pedestrian bridge spanning one of northern Europe's deepest gorges at 153 meters, with the Gorzi waterfall plunging 140 meters into the abyss below.
