Sjøsanden in Mandal has been voted Norway's best beach multiple times. An 800-metre arc of fine white sand stretches along the Mannefjorden, backed by the Furulunden pine park. The sand is surprisingly fine for this latitude, the water shallow enough for wading, and the setting, with pine trees framing the beach, is genuinely attractive. Popular year-round but at its best on a warm summer day. Camping and facilities are right next to the beach.
