Laukelandsfossen drops 135 metres down a cliff face that stretches up to 100 metres wide, making it one of the most impressive waterfalls in the Sunnfjord district. The falls sit on the river Gaula near Dale i Sunnfjord, the administrative centre of Fjaler municipality.

The waterfall is best seen in late spring and early summer when snowmelt fills the river. In dry periods, the flow narrows to a fraction of its full width, but after heavy rain the entire rock wall runs white. A viewpoint along the road gives a clear sightline without any hiking required.
