Holvikfossen is a waterfall near Sandane in Gloppen, set in Trivselsskogen ("The Feel-Good Forest"). The approach is along sherpa-built trails and bark-covered paths that make this an accessible and family-friendly walk.
A highlight is Fosseteateret, a purpose-built viewpoint at the edge of the gorge with views straight down to the river cascading below. The trail continues past the viewpoint and climbs via stone stairs to the top of the waterfall. The full loop, including the climb, takes about two hours.
The trailhead is well-signed from the E39 road and has a large car park. An alternative route starts from Kleivedammen dam higher up, offering a different perspective on the falls.
