Helleristningene ved Utenga is a collection of ancient rock carvings in Lier municipality, about 30 kilometres southwest of Oslo. These petroglyphs date back roughly 3,000 years to the Bronze Age.

You'll find them carved directly into the smooth rock surfaces near the Utenga farm. The carvings show ships, human figures, and animals that tell us about life here thousands of years ago.

Unfortunately, they're not always easy to spot. The best time to visit is late afternoon when the low sun creates shadows that make the engravings more visible. Bring a torch if you're here on a cloudy day. The site is free to visit and there's parking nearby.
