Haukelifjell Skisenter sits at Vågslid on the E134, between Haukeli village and Haukeliseter, at 855 to 1,216 metres above sea level. It has 6 lifts and 16 slopes over 15 km of skiable terrain, plus 70 km of groomed cross-country tracks.
The resort is one of the most snow-sure in southern Norway. The high altitude and inland climate mean early snow and a long season. The slopes are wide and the area is known among freeriders for good off-piste terrain.
There is a children's slope, Vennebakken, physically separated from the main runs, with jumps, bridges, and tunnels for younger skiers. Ski-in/ski-out apartments are available right at the slopes.
This is not a destination resort like Hemsedal or Trysil. It is a mountain ski centre on a main highway, popular with families from Telemark and Rogaland who want reliable snow without a long drive.
