Hafslo is a small agricultural village on the shore of Hafslovatnet, a lake south of the Lustrafjord. The lake is known locally for good fishing. The village has a school, a shop, and not much else that would attract tourists on its own.
Nearby is Sogn Alpine Ski Centre, which operates in winter. The area around Hafslo is farming country: hay fields, fruit orchards, and grazing animals. The road from Hafslo continues south to the Austerdal glacier at the end of the valley.
If you are driving through, the views over Hafslovatnet to the mountains behind are worth slowing down for. The light here can be exceptional in the evening.
