Glomdalsmuseet in Elverum, founded in 1911, is one of the Nordic region's largest open-air museums. 92 historic buildings from the period 1612 to 1940 are spread over 10 acres along the Glomma River, Norway's longest. The collection brings to life the traditions, crafts and social history of the Solør and Østerdalen regions, from medieval roots to the 20th century. The museum also has several permanent indoor exhibitions and is part of the Anno Museum network. Open daily, with ticketed entry to the outdoor area from mid-May through mid-September.
