Fagerdalen is a gentle valley hike starting from Fagerstrand on the eastern shore of lake Bygdin, near Bygdin Høifieldshotel. The circuit is roughly 8 kilometres with only 220 metres of ascent, making it one of the more accessible walks on this side of Jotunheimen. The trail follows the stream up into the valley on an unmarked but clear path. At the fork, left takes you into Fagerdalen itself; right leads up to Synshorn, the two can be combined into a longer day. There is also a popular one-way route from Valdresflye down through Breidløypa and Fagerdalen to Bygdin, mostly downhill through open mountain terrain.
