Edland

15 minutes
Edland is a small village in Vinje municipality, where the rivers Bora and Kjela meet, just east of Haukeli on the E134. It is the last settlement before the road climbs up to the Haukelifjell pass.

The village has a literary connection. The poet Aasmund Olavsson Vinje, one of the most important Norwegian writers of the 19th century, took the plot for his epic poem Storegut from Edland. Vinje municipality is named after him.

There is a rest stop here for cars and trucks. Beyond Edland, the E134 enters the mountains.
