The Devold Museum is housed in the old Devold textile factory in Langevåg on the island of Sula, just outside Ålesund. The factory dates back to 1853, when Ole Andreas Devold founded the brand and began producing woollen garments originally designed for fishermen and sailors. Production moved to Langevåg in 1868, and the company grew to become one of Norway's most recognized wool clothing brands, still active today.

The museum documents 150 years of Devold history, from the early days of hand-knitting to industrial textile production. The old factory building, Devoldfabrikken, has been transformed into a cultural and commercial hub with the museum, an outlet store, restaurants, and event spaces.

A separate highlight is the Devoldsbanen, an impressive model railway built by a group of train enthusiasts called Pensensvenner ("Turnout Friends") who have worked on it for over 30 years. Their miniature world fills a full 1,000 square metres of the factory building with an incredible number of detailed scenes, landscapes, and working trains.
