The Audnedalen valley follows the river Audna through what is now Lyngdal municipality. A few kilometres south of the station, the village of Konsmo sits along the lake Ytre Øydnavatnet. Konsmo Church has roots going back to at least 1335, when the earliest surviving records mention it. The medieval church was eventually torn down and replaced in the 1500s. The current white wooden cruciform church dates from 1802, designed by architect Arne Bjørnson Listad, and seats about 400 people. The village name comes from Old Norse Konungsmór, meaning "king's moor", since the original church was built on the Konsmo farm which apparently had royal connections.
Konsmo is also home to Konsmo Motorbane, an 872-metre rallycross circuit with a surface split evenly between gravel and asphalt. Run by NMK Konsmo, one of Norway's leading rallycross clubs, the track regularly hosts rounds of the Norwegian Rallycross Championship.
