Asker Kirke sits in this wealthy suburb about 20 kilometres southwest of Oslo. The current church dates from 1879, replacing an older medieval structure from 1110 that's no longer here. It's a typical Norwegian parish church serving this affluent community where several royal family members live. The church occasionally hosts concerts and cultural events. Unless you're particularly interested in 19th-century church architecture, it's mainly worth a quick look if you're already in Asker.
