Vågsberget Trading Post

Vågsberget on the south side of Vågsøy island is one of the best-preserved coastal trading posts in western Norway. Dating back to the 17th century, the post served travellers and fishermen near the rich fisheries of Toskangerpollen and Vågsvågen, handling fish processing and trade for nearly three centuries. The splendid main building and well-stocked general store have been restored and are open for guided tours, offering a glimpse into the coastal commerce that built wealth along this exposed stretch of coast. The famous Kannesteinen rock formation, shaped like the stem of a wine glass by centuries of wave erosion, stands on the shore nearby.
