⛷️ Skiing Mountain Oslo

Tryvann

180 minutes
Higher up the hills above Holmenkollen and Frognerseteren lies Tryvann, where Oslo's largest ski resort is located. Oslo Vinterpark has several ski lifts and slopes suitable for all levels, from gentle beginner runs to steeper terrain. It is not an Alpine mega-resort, but for a ski area within the city limits of a European capital, it is surprisingly good. During summer, the area is transformed into a large climbing park with high-rope courses and ziplines.

From the parking area, you will notice the tall antenna tower on the hilltop, Tryvannstårnet, which looks like it should have an observation deck. It did, but the viewing platform was closed in 2007 when stricter fire safety regulations were introduced. Every few years someone announces a plan to reopen it, which is then never heard of again. Do not count on getting up there.

During the winter season, bus line 48 runs from the metro station Voksenkollen directly to the ski centre. In summer, you need to walk from Frognerseteren metro station, which takes about twenty minutes. The area around Tryvann is also a popular starting point for hikes deeper into Nordmarka.
