If you're up for a proper detour, there's a toll road from Sokna through Strømsoddbygda that leads about 30 km into the forest towards Vassfaret. At the end you'll find Trollfossen - actually called Hellun locally, but everyone calls it Trollfossen.

It's not one waterfall but a series of falls and pools in the Fjellelvi river, spread across rock plateaus near the treeline. The hike from Bukollplassen parking is around 6-7 km return with 450 m climb. Challenging but well marked with blue blazes.

On a warm summer day with low water, people swim in the pools.

You can also access it from the Gulsvik side via Buvatnet. Either way you're paying a toll of 50-85 kroner and committing to a full day out.
This is not a quick roadside stop. It's a destination in itself.
