Svandalfossen is a large waterfall you'll encounter whilst driving the Ryfylke scenic route. It drops right beside the road just before you reach Saudasjøen lake. The waterfall is quite impressive, especially after heavy rain when the volume increases dramatically.
There's a small car park where you can stop safely. You'll find stone steps leading up towards the falls if you want a closer look. The walk takes about ten minutes and gets you near the base where you can feel the spray. Be aware that the steps can be slippery when wet, which is most of the time. It's a convenient stop since it requires minimal effort compared to other waterfalls in Norway.
