Stovner Tower

Stovnertårnet is a concrete viewing structure in the borough of Stovner, near the eastern border of Oslo. A winding path leads up to a platform that offers views over the eastern suburbs and, on a clear day, towards the Oslofjord in the distance. The structure itself is somewhat interesting from an architectural standpoint, a spiral of concrete rising out of the hillside.

To be honest, it is not really worth a special trip. The views are decent but not spectacular, and there is nothing else of particular interest in the immediate area. If you happen to be on the eastern side of Oslo and are curious, take metro line 4 or 5 to Stovner and follow the signs. Otherwise, your time is better spent at one of the more rewarding viewpoints like Grefsenkollen, Ekebergrestauranten or the Holmenkollen ski jump.
