The Setesdal Mineralpark near Evje displays one of Scandinavia's finest collections of minerals and crystals, housed inside a former underground mine. Five exhibition halls spread across 1,200 square metres show specimens from the pegmatite quarries that made the Evje-Iveland area famous among geologists worldwide. The park is designed for non-specialists: the displays emphasise visual impact rather than technical detail, and children can try gold panning and mineral hunting. The surrounding area has mineral trails where you can search for your own specimens of amazonite, quartz, fluorite, and more.
