Every first weekend of August since 1984, Risør fills its harbour with classic wooden boats from across the Nordic countries. The Trebåtfestival draws around 10,000 to 12,000 visitors who come to see sailing yachts, Colin Archer lifeboats, Viking replicas, wooden schooners, and elegant motorboats. The festival combines boat exhibitions with regattas, concerts, traditional craftsmanship demonstrations, and children's activities. The 2026 edition runs 30 July to 1 August.
