Rauland Kunstmuseum houses two collections. The main one is by Dyre Vaa (1903-1980), one of Norway's most important sculptors, who grew up in Rauland. The museum shows his sculptures, paintings, graphic art, and drawings. The second is the Skinnarland Collection, with over 100 works by sculptor Knut Skinnarland and a replica of his studio.
The Skinnarland name may ring a bell: Einar Skinnarland, the WWII agent who operated from a cabin near Møsvatn during the heavy water sabotage, was from the same family.
The museum is small but worth a stop if you are interested in Norwegian sculpture. It is in the centre of Rauland, next to Raulandsakademiet.
