Lofotodden National Park

30 minutes
Lofotodden National Park was established in 2019 and covers the southwestern tip of Moskenøya. It is one of Norway's newest national parks. The park protects a landscape of steep mountains, beaches, and coastal wilderness that makes up the dramatic end of the Lofoten Wall.

The park includes Kvalvika beach and the Ryten viewpoint, which are the most visited areas. Before the national park designation, the increasing number of visitors was causing visible damage to the fragile terrain. The park status brought stricter rules: drones are banned (12,000 NOK fine), toilet bags are required, and staying on marked paths is enforced.

There is no visitor centre for the park. Access is from the Fredvang side via Innersand, or from Torsfjord. The terrain is not wilderness by Arctic standards, but it is exposed and the weather changes fast. Come prepared.
