Langedrag sits at 966 metres elevation in Nore og Uvdal municipality, in the mountains between Hallingdal and Numedal. It was founded in 1978 by Eva and Edvin K. Thorson and has grown into one of Norway's best-known wildlife parks, with around 350 to 500 animals of 25 different species.

The main draw is the wolves. Langedrag keeps socialized wolves that visitors can meet up close. The wolf yard visit costs around 1,090 kroner and the closer socialized wolf encounter costs about 1,190 kroner, with an age limit of 15. These are not wild wolves, they are raised in contact with humans, but they are still impressive animals.

Since 2004, the park has run a captive breeding programme for arctic foxes in cooperation with the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research. The arctic fox is critically endangered in Scandinavia, and Langedrag breeds them for release into the wild. Other animals include lynx, moose, muskox, reindeer, and various farm animals.

The park became nationally famous through the NRK television series Vi på Langedrag in 2001. A new series, Nytt blod, aired in 2024.

Day entrance costs around 485 kroner in high season. There are 120 beds for overnight stays in cabins and a lodge. If travelling with children, this is one of the better family destinations in southern Norway. Plan a full day.
