Hoven on Gimsøya is one of the gentlest summit hikes in Lofoten, rising just 368 metres on a well-marked trail that families with older children can comfortably manage. The panorama from the top takes in the open sea to the north, Austvågøya's peaks to the east, and Vestvågøya's beaches to the southwest.

The gentle gradient and relatively short approach, around two hours for the round trip, make it ideal for an evening ascent when the low Arctic sun casts long shadows across the surrounding islands.
