Hauklandstranda is a white sand beach on the north coast of Vestvågøy, easily accessible from the road between Leknes and Uttakleiv. The water is turquoise in good light, the sand is fine, and the mountains frame it on both sides. It looks like it belongs somewhere tropical, except the water temperature stays around 12 degrees even in summer.
The car park at the beach also serves as the starting point for the Mannen hike. The old gravel road along the shore leads to the tunnel entrance to Uttakleiv. It is a flat, easy walk suitable for families and strollers.
