Hallingskarvet Skisenter

180 minutes
Sudndalen has just 75 residents, but one of them is Andreas Håtveit - X-Games gold medallist in slopestyle skiing. He helped design the terrain park here, and the off-piste areas have been training grounds for some of Norway's best freeride and telemark skiers for decades. Olympic champion Hans Petter Buraas is another local.

The resort sits at the foot of Hallingskarvet, with 510 metres of vertical drop and runs up to 3 kilometres long. Wide slopes, few people, serious powder terrain higher up, trees lower down. The kind of place where you can actually have space to yourself.

If you have a Geilo season pass, it works here too.
