Gimsøystraumen Bridge carries the E10 across the strait between Austvågøya and Gimsøya. It opened in 1981 and is 839 metres long with a main span of 148 metres and nine spans total. The clearance is 30 metres.
The bridge is exposed to some of the roughest weather in Lofoten. Side winds can be fierce, and the bridge is occasionally closed to high-profile vehicles in storms. The crossing gives good views of the mountains on both sides, and on clear days you can see the Lofoten Wall stretching into the distance.
