Forsand is the small village at the mouth of the Lysefjord, where the fjord meets the Høgsfjord. Until 2020 it was the centre of its own municipality; it is now part of Sandnes.
For most visitors, Forsand is a transit point. The ferry to Lysebotn and Flørli departs from here, and the road to Preikestolen parking starts just outside the village. There is a small shop, a marina, and a few accommodation options.
Above the village sits Uburen, a distinctive cliff formation visible when crossing from Høgsfjord. It marks the entrance to the Lysefjord and has been a landmark for sailors for centuries.
