Åmot is a crossroad in Seljord municipality where three roads meet. The E134 runs east-west, Rv37 heads north toward Rjukan and Gaustatoppen, and Rv38 goes south to Dalen and the Telemark Canal.
If you are heading west on the E134 toward Haukeli, this is a decision point. Continuing straight takes you over the Haukelifjell. Turning north on Rv37 leads to Rjukan, and from there you can loop back west toward Rauland. Turning south takes you into the heart of old Telemark, down to Dalen at the end of the canal.
