The granite walls of Uskedalen rise up to 1,000 metres from the valley floor and stretch continuously for three kilometres. At the top sits Ulvanosa (1,248m), the highest point on a ridge that also includes Geitadalstind and Øktaredalstind. In the climbing world, this place is known as the Norwegian Yosemite.

The climbing is almost entirely on natural gear. There are practically no bolts anywhere. Routes range from 100-metre single-wall climbs to the full 650-metre headwall, followed by a long summit ridge to the top. The granite has thick crystals and excellent friction, but grades feel significantly harder than rated. Experienced climbers regularly describe routes as feeling two grades above what the guidebook says.

This is not a place for beginners. The routes are serious and committing, requiring solid trad climbing experience, confident gear placements, and good rope management. Bergen Klatreklubb publishes a dedicated guidebook (latest edition 2021).

The season runs from late May to September, with June and July offering the best conditions and longest daylight. Rabben Camping in Uskedalen is the usual base. The area is in Kvinnherad municipality, near Rosendal.
