Tømmeråsfossen is a 23-metre waterfall on the Sanddøla river, just 2.5 kilometres from Grong center. Centuries of flowing water have polished the rock into natural slides and carved out deep pools at the base, making it what many consider the most spectacular open-air bathing spot in Central Norway. Visitors can ride the smooth rock chutes down into the pools, swim beneath the falls, or sunbathe on the grassy banks above. The area is wheelchair accessible. The river has natural currents and variable water levels, so swimming is at your own risk and not recommended alone.
