Tjørnadalsfossen is the giant of Oddadalen. It drops over 500 metres down the eastern valley wall in multiple steps, dwarfing every other waterfall in the area. The name comes from the small mountain lakes, or tjørn, that feed it from above.
Unlike the other waterfalls in Oddadalen, you cannot see Tjørnadalsfossen from the road. A small car park lies just south of the lake Sandvinvatnet, on the eastern side of the road. From there, a short walk of around 500 metres brings you to the base. The path is not difficult, though it climbs a little.
Few tourists stop here. Most drive straight to Låtefossen. Their loss.
