Tinghuset is Oslo's courthouse, located on C.J. Hambros plass near Nationaltheatret. The postmodern granite building was designed by Østgaard Arkitekter and completed in 1994. It houses Oslo tingrett, the city's district court, and Borgarting lagmannsrett, the appeals court for eastern Norway. The building contains 54 courtrooms and is not open to casual visitors.
