Øvre Forra is a 108-square-kilometre nature reserve in Trøndelag, protecting a vast peatland landscape along the upper reaches of the Forra river. Established in 1990 and recognized internationally as a Ramsar wetland site, the reserve spans the municipalities of Levanger, Verdal, Stjørdal, and Meråker. The intact mire system sits at high elevation, partly forested with Norway spruce and dotted with small lakes and a meandering river. Rich birdlife includes cranes, golden plovers, redshanks, and willow grouse.
