⛷️ Skiing Mountain

Ørskogfjellet

180 minutes
Ørskogfjellet is a low mountain pass at about 314 metres elevation. The E136 crosses it on the way between Åndalsnes and Ålesund.

If you are here in winter, you will notice a small ski resort on the hillside. Ørskogfjell Skisenter has 3 lifts and 7 runs, and it is entirely run by volunteers from the local ski club. It is not a big destination resort, but that is actually very typical for Norway. Across the country there are hundreds of small, community-run ski hills like this one. Locals grow up skiing here after school, often under floodlights on dark winter evenings. It is part of what makes skiing such an everyday activity in Norway rather than just a holiday thing.
