Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum is the art museum for all of Northern Norway. The institution was established in Tromsø in 1985, and in 2024 it opened this second location in Bodø as part of the city's year as European Capital of Culture.

The collection spans several centuries, from historical paintings of the northern landscape to contemporary installations by Sami and northern Norwegian artists. The museum does not limit itself to regional work; it places northern art in conversation with national and international pieces. Rotating exhibitions keep the programme fresh.

The museum sits in the Stormen cultural quarter in central Bodø, alongside the concert hall and library. The whole area was rebuilt as part of a major cultural investment that culminated in the 2024 Capital of Culture year, the first time the title was awarded to a city north of the Arctic Circle.
